The Delivery Instruction Slip (DIS) slip is essentially like a cheque but for your Demat account transactions. It is used to facilitate and authorize the sale or transfer of shares from one account to another. This signed document is specifically important for offline trading, as it permits the DP (Depository Participant) to carry out the transfer on your behalf.
Is it compulsory to fill out this Delivery Instruction Slip (DIS)?
Yes, It is mandated by SEBI that for every trade Delivery Instruction Slip (DIS) has to be filled and submitted within the stipulated time to the broker Without a correct Delivery Instruction Slip (DIS) a trade cannot be settled as it gives instructions to DP to transfer securities on your behalf for the settlement of a trade.

FILEDS TO BE FILLED IN DELIVERY INSTRUCTION SLIP (DIS) SLIP
1. DP ID: This will be pre-printed on the DIS slip
2. Client ID: We need to mention the last 8 digits of the Demat account number. For the Demat Account number, you may refer DP id column in Deal Slip. (Deal slip is mailed after the execution of a transaction).
3. First/Sole Holder’s Name: Specify the account holder’s name as mentioned in the Demat account
4. ISIN: Specify the ISIN of security to be transferred. (Refer Deal Slip)
5. Security Name: Name of security to be transferred. ( Refer to Deal Slip)
6. Quantity in Figures: Specify the quantity in numbers.
7. Quantity in Words: Specify the quantity in words.
8. Instruction Type :- Account Transfer -outside (Inter Depository)
Enter details in BO-CM column
9. Exchange Name: Mention the name of the exchange _NSE
10. Settlement/ Market Market: Mention CORPORATE BOND (T+1)
11. Settlement Number: Need to mention the settlement number (Refer to Deal Slip Column Settlement Number)
12. Counter DP id/CM BP: Mention CM BP Id as IN568177.
13. Counter client ID: No need to enter any details in this column
14. Counter BO/CM Name: Mention CM name as NSE Clearing Ltd
15. Signature: Signature of a 1st Holder to sign in this.
